3086.0. "Pop-up Menus, ala X-Windows" by LEDS::ACCIARDI () Thu Nov 09 1989 00:02
If you like the way X-Windows applications can 'pop-up' their menus at
any location on the screen, then you may want to take a look at
PopUpMenu.
This small hack (4780 byte executable) modifies Intuition in such a way
that any application's menu (including Workbench) will 'pop' up
wherever or whenever the right mouse button is selected. If the RMB is
selected over the title bar, then the menus are presented in the
standard way in the screen's title bar.
PopUpMenu is actually fairly clever in the way that it presents the
instant menu box. It condenses all the title bar's items into a
verticle list. As you walk the RMB down the list, the sub-menu items
will drop down to the right as you'd expect. What surprised me was
that clicking the RMB on the far right side of the screen (where there
would be no room for the sub-menus) simple caused the sub-menus to drop
to the LEFT side of the main menu list. Smart.
I had thought that pop-up menus were not possible with the current
design of Intuition, so this shows you how much I know...
Anyway, I WAS going to upload this to NORSE, but I'm unable to connect,
so I'll allow temporary access to LEDS3::USER6:[ACCIARDI.AMIGA].
Please restrict access to off-hours. The file is called POPUPMENU.ZOO
and is in Stream_LF format.
