I am currently running Deluxe Video 1.2 (the most current version) and
called E(lectronic) A(rts) to see if a new version had been released.
Well, V3.0 will be released in December (this year!) and the upgrade is
US$57 + manual cover. They said you can send in the stuff now and it
will be shipped when available (of course they won't charge your
credit card until it is shipped). I got a quick list of features:

o supports Deluxe Paint III stuff
o supports all Amiga video resolutions (included HAM etc)
o supports SFVS & SMUF midi stuff
o control external devices thru ARexx port (frame-by-frame VCR's)
o Supergen genlock utilities
o more transition effects
o overscan
o auto scrolling
o slideshow
... (everything else sounded sort of familiar)

    Does Version 1.2 allow you to use Instant Music files, I've got 1.0 and
    am curious if V3.0 will follow this tradition (it's about the only use
    I have for IM music files since they're not compatible with  any other
    programs.).
     If version 1.2 does/doesn't support this it'll half answer my
    question.

       Ed, don't know if you got an answer, so....
       
       I checked the DV1.2 manual last night and it states that music
       from both Deluxe Music Construction Set and Instant Music can be
       used with DV (I personally use DMCS).  In the reference section,
       over and above reiterating this, it states something to the effect
       that any other music package that supports SMUS IFF files can also
       be used.

    I spoke to Electronic Arts in the UK today and they say that Deluxe
    Video III will not be out until January (UK will be about 1 week
    behind the States)                      
                                            
    This is a bit of a dissapointment since it requires DV III to run with
    an A590 hard disk.  None of the existing versions can even be run from
    a diskette if there is an A590 attached. 

    If anyone finds out any up to date release info please let me know.

    Does anyone know , if I purchase DV-III from states can it run PAL on 
    European Amigas???? Or will run only NTSC?????
