| Yes,
you'll need SOME additional hardware to run with ths beast.
1. A controller: I'm running a Omti 5527 a st506-only-thing.
I think most of the Amigos will recommend the CBM 2090a.
That's a ST506 AND SCSI-controller. So you're READY for
future improvements (SCSI-disk/streamer...)
2. A cable-set for ST506 (one 20-pin and one 34 pin/the same as
for uVAXII/RQDXn/RD5n) try to get old FS-material remove
the connectors (the DEC-cables are TOO short) buy 34 and 20
cable and press longer cables.
3. A 5.25" drive can be mounted into the 5.25"-bay of the 2000
4. Power comes from the internal power-supply which has 2 extra
connectors for additional disk-drives
5. A driver for the disk which works with your controller.
Usually it comes with the controller
very quick answer
did i miss something?

| RE: .2
My Seagate ST-277 has been performing flawlessly. Also, the Seagate that
was in my PRO380 at the office performed flawlesslessly for 4 years
(never turned off). I suspect it still is somewhere.
BTW, Technology Marketing Group has the ST277R's on sale for $345.
65 Mbytes 1/2 height 5.25".
