A question regarding Kickstart 1.3 -
After installing a 1.3 ROM do I still need to do the SETPATCH thing
in my startup-sequence or does the ROM fix the problems? I can't
seem to find any documentaion on this.

I'm still ignorant here. I'm confused because, as you pointed out,
setpatch came with the 1.3 workbench but there was no 1.3 ROM at
the time. My interpetation was that setpatch was used to correct
problems in the 1.2 ROM. I conclude (perhaps incorrectly) that
these problems may have been fixed in the 1.3 ROM.
So now I ask myself - after running setpatch with a 1.3 rom, have

| You should grab a copy of WB 1.32 from your local net distrbution site,
install it and use the setpatch from it.
Yes, you make your system better by applying SetPatch. Even if a particular
bug in 1.2 was fixed in 1.3, SetPatch will only "fix it again" which can't be
all that bad.
I don't believe 1.3 fixed any bugs. It was strictly for AutoBoot.

This is a kinda related question, is 1.3.2 available from any DEC
sites? Or is it still only on BIX, GENIE and other pay for use sites?

As for using SetPatch, you still need it with the 1.3 ROMS, or at least
it doesn't hurt. My 2500 came with 1.3 and still has setpatch in the
startup sequence.

Look at NORSE::AMIGA:[UPLOAD]wb132.zoo to get your update to WB
1.3.2 (Vers.34.27).
I had been using it for a couple of days and I couldn't find any
problems.

There were NO bugfixes in the 1.3 ROM, the only difference is the
added AutoBoot support. Therefore SetPatch (best of all the 1.32
version) should be applied.

| Regarding 1.3.2,
Yesterday I let my 4 year old play with DPaint while I went to work,
when I came back, my 40Mb drive was just gone!!!! I tried disk doctor
from the latest release and it recovered it all.
Needless to say that the backups are overdue.
