I just installed a 1.3 kickstart ROM in my 2000 and something funny
has happened.
I have a bunch of IFF pic's on my hard disk which no longer work
when I double click their ICON. The default tool is ShoWiz which
I've used for a long time without problems. What happens now when
I double click on the ICON is:
1. Screen fades to black (which it did before)
2. Picture seems to be loading from hard disk (same as before)
3. Pointer re-appears (as it did before) but the screen remains
black (aside from the pointer). I can't seem to get out of
this without a re-boot.
If I view the pictues with another tool (ie ViewILBM) everything
seems ok. This is the only problem I can find.
Has anyone else seen this? Any other good viewers around.
(PS - I really don't want to swap out the 1.3 rom out to proove
there may be a compatability problem. )

ShowWIZ probably is naughty and talks to ROM routines by address. 1.3 will have shifted the address of some. John | |||||

I have an AMIGA 1000 and boot with Kickstart & WB 1.3. I have
recently used SHOWIZ with no problems.

I have a 2000 with 1.3 roms, and I frist tried SHOWIZ about a month
ago and did not have any problem. How recent is your version? I had
the impression that when I got a copy of it, last month it was a new
version. It did have some slick transitions, and would be great to
put together a slide show, but for normal viewing I use SuperView, so
I haven't done much with it.

RE: .1 There is a later version of ShoWiz that works with V1.3. I'll
upload it unless someone already has.

Thanks for the reply. I'd appreciate an upload. I downloaded
what I thought was a new version this weekend but it was the same
as the one I had ages ago.
FYI - The version I have is an even size (either 23000 or 28000
bytes, I can't remember which). I runs fine with the 1.3 WB.
I didn't notice the problem until I installed the 1.3 kikstart
ROM.
