2933.0. "DISK INITIALIZE PROBLEM W.B 1.2" by LINCON::MGAINES () Tue Sep 19 1989 09:24

    During a disk initialize under W.B. 1.2, I had several disks that
    would not initialize properly. The init would get to the final
    cylinder and then pause with the message init complete. Then just
    before the disk icon returned, I got a message "init failed, disk
    is not a dos disk, invalid key 880 checksum" or something like this...
    
    I could not understand this, so I thought well lets try my W.B.
    1.3 disk and perform the same init. The initialize worked just fine.
    No errors no messages, just a real nice init... Why did W.B. 1.2
    fail? I tried the same disks several times using 1.2, and the results
    were the same. These disks were some old ARCADE game stuff I decided
    to trash. Funny thing though, W.B. 1.2 initializes new disk just
    fine, this seems to occur only on previously formatted disks.
