And we did it again... ;-) Announcing: NecFC NecFC will allow the proud owners of Nec PinWriters to download standard AmigaFonts to their printers, plus some more bells and whistles. The whole sheebang can be grapped as usually from: FRAMBO::BZOEVFL:[BALZER.AMIGA.NECFC] Have fun, <CB>

CB, Could you expand on this a bit more? My question is "what's the advantage of downline loading Amiga fonts to my NEC"? Do they look any better than if I do a bitmaped print from my word processor? I have a P2200 with download capability (like the P6) and I've never been able to figure out how the feature could be exploited on the Amiga. Thanks, Frank

Re: .1 Well the advantage of this is simply the fact that you're not restricted to a word processor with screen dump option. Plus some little details like speed (it takes much longer to dump a screen than using a downloaded font to print the text) and the fact that indeed a downloaded font will usually look much better than a DumpRastPort()'ed one. Hope this clears some fog, <CB>

Thanks. I'll have to give it a try. Frank |
