Hi, I was just cruising through the IBM notes file ( I have both an Amiga 2000 and a AST Premium/286 ) and I noticed some notes about doing home design on the IBM. They mentioned 3 packages which were for home design vs generic CADD systems. Has anyone seen anything for the Amiga? Given the amiga's superior graphics I would think that such a package could go long way. For example design, materials estimation, walk throughs, rotations, ti goes on and on. I would like to design a dream home in my spare time ( Ha! what spare time) Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

There is a product called "home builders CAD" or something very close to that name. I've never used it but saw it demonstrated at a show last fall. Not being interrested in that topic I didn't pay much attention but as I recall, it does the things you're looking for. Frank | |||||

I've played with Home Builder's CAD a bit at the store. I decided not to buy it because it had some limitations I wasn't willing to deal with. The only one that sticks in my mind is that the space under sloping roofs was non-functional. In other words, you couldn't design a Cape with this package, since the second floor was not of uniform ceiling height. There are rumors that the other package (...Choice?) which was an addition to the first, would fix this. I don't know. Mark |
