2832.0. "Printer causing games not to load" by NITMOI::WITHERS (So shines a good deed in a weary world..) Mon Aug 14 1989 11:13
Hello everyone!
I just bought a Panasonic NX1000 Printer and run afoul of a strange
glitch. When trying to boot Garrison (Gauntlet-type game) or
Populous if the printer is powered up and connected to my system,
the games won't boot.
Both are copy-protected, my configuration is A500 w/ A501 (clock
and meg, for 1 meg total), Phoenix Ctlr 40Mg Harddrive (ST501),
Panasonic NX1000 Printer, Scholar 2400 baud modem, VR241 monitor.
Any ideas what could cause this? Copy protection seems to be the
culprit but its annoying to have to unplug things to load a program.
George

2832.1 | Get an Amiga cable to be sure | GIAMEM::I_SHAW | I love rainchecks... | Mon Aug 14 1989 15:44 | 5 |
| If I remember correctly, there is a power line pin that must be
disconnected, otherwise it hangs the external disk drive. Make sure you
have an Amiga cable, or else you'll have to chuck the extra disk...
