2814.0. "Pwer supply probs" by GIDDAY::MORAN () Tue Aug 08 1989 09:06

    I also have another query for you ..

    I have a friend with a Amiga 500 which randomly resets the machine. No
    Guru.

    It is definately the Power Supply as he swapped it for a new one and
    his machine now works fine.

    Has anyone heard of this problem and could you give any ideas as to
    what is wrong with it so we can fix it to use it for a spare.

    Thank Shaun.

Some A500 supplies did not have enough power for extra stuff (like second
floppies etc).

If you friend has extra peripherals or plans to add more, he might concider
getting another heftier supply. Look in Amiga mags for adv. on heavy duty
A500 supplies...

    Beware of the need for 240/220V 50hz requirements. I suspect a number
    of the after-market U.S. manufactured power supplies for the A500 are
    only suitable for 110V (well at least I haven't seen any 110/240V units
    advertised that caught my eye)

    Regards

    This may be tweaked a bit !!!!
