		Wanted  HARD DISK DRIVE  !

	I'm about sick and tired of multiple floppy swaps and/or the 
endless copying that I have to do to get everything onto less than 3 
disks, so......

	If you or anyone you know are(is) outgrowing the capacity of
their current hard disk please let me know.  20 Meg is probably 
sufficient {no snickering you guys, more is more and more is better 
and we all want more, right ?}  though a cast off 30, 40 or 60 wouldn't 
be refused if the price were right.  I'm not too worried about the 
spec'd access time either, assuming that the difference between 1/100 th
vs 1/25 of a second won't be  THAT  much of an agravation to me.

with a cassette recording of the game's theme. I've gotten both Skyfox and

FastMemFirst or NoFastMem or somesuch.

Soundscape ProMidi Studio	$50 (reduced!)


Soundscape ProMidi studio is an "expandable" sequencer system for the Amiga,
which can utilize internal sounds as well as MIDI input/output. Along with this
package comes a series of "Amazing Computing" issues which document the library
calls used to write custom modules, as well as an Amicus disk containing the
code referenced in the articles. (In other words, if you have a c compiler and
the desire to write a new tool, you can add it to SoundScape.)

Current mail-order (read: lowest) price on this product is $129; the cost for
the Amazing computing issues plus the disk is around $25 total. $50 represents
about one-third of the going discount price.

Soundscape is quite similar to Bars and Pipes, and is in fact its ancestor. It
is infinitely expandable, since it uses interconnected "tools" through which

Examples of the sample tools included in the "customization" code included are
a "note repeat" tool and a "chord" tool which produces a full chord for each
MIDI note.

	On June 27, 28, and 29 1991 I will perform my work, "A Refugee From
	Performance Art" at the Performance Place at the Elizabeth Peabody
	House in Somerville, MA.  Admission is $12.00.  For reservations call
	(617) 625-1300.  This is the blurb in their brochure for subscribers:
	"A Refugee From Performance Art": Boston Artist Thomas E. Janzen 
	unleashes his quirky, real-life satire of a small Seattle gallery vs.
	The Art Industry.  In the storytelling mode of Spaulding Gray,
	Janzen spins tales of censorship and naivite.  Illustrating them with 
	computer-generated music and images.
	Thus-Sat. 8PM $12."

	There are 40+ minutes of Amiga graphics on video tape.  These were 
	recorded continuously with one Director script, but will be interrupted
	in the 75' performance.  The pictures are not stunning, but some are
	pretty.  I used DPII, TV*Text, Director directly writing, Sculpt 3D,
	and Forms in Flight.  There isn't serious animation, just color cycling 
	and line drawing abstracts (lines are drawn before you, but it's 
	recorded on video tape).  I wimped out on a rendered 3D animation, 
	so it won't be there.  There will be about 10' of Amiga-music (MIDI), 
	most of it automatically composed by my program AlgoRhythms, played 
	from cassette.  No live computer, I'm afraid.  (that's the reason ;-) )
	The script was done with WordPerfect. ;-).

	The Performance Place is at 277 Broadway in Somerville, around the
	corner from Somerville Lumber, near Sullivan Station on the Orange 
	Line (15 min. walk, take B'way straight up, it's on the right).  Bus 
	89 or 101 from Sullivan is a 5 minute ride; get out at Star Market and 
	go back a block.  From Harvard sq. take bus 86 to Sullivan, and from 
	Davis Square take bus 90 to Sullivan.  To drive, take rt 28 (McGrath 
	Hiway) North past the museum of Science.  After the steel bridge, go 
	left at the second light (onto Broadway). The Performance Place is 2 
	blocks up on your right.  Or take Rt. 93 to Rt 28 exti and rt 28 south 
	one block, turn right, onto broadway (at dunkin donuts).  Performance 
	Place is 2 blocks up on your right.

	Last night I persuaded BCS Amiga to put a note on their BBS but 
	without details.

		(e.g. harddisk, ram, ports, mouse)
	+ offers extended and/or expanded memory to the AT system
	+ supports Amiga's Multitasking, means you can use the Amiga-tasks
	  and a	MS-DOS session under ATonce simultaneously (but ATonce will
	  heavily use the Amiga CPU -> Amiga tasks will slow down!)

	- no support of the Amiga 2000 PC/AT Slots
	- requires new revision of the Amiga 2000 motherboard (think 6.X, 
	  but I'm not sure), or at least you will have to rework (according 
	  to official Commodore Rework Instructions available from VORTEX) 
	  your older board

This informations are mostly out of the ATonce manual.
Also my brother tested this 'ATonce for the Amiga 2000' in his own Amiga
(his motherboard revision is 6.X, sorry but I don't no the exact one) and
it works fine. He also his own 'ATonce for the Amiga 2000' in his Amiga now
for about 6 weeks with no problems (at least as I know).

Reason of this selling:
This ATonce was given to me as a birthday present (of course of my brother),
but for now I see no need in using MESSY-DOS. Instead I like to power up my
Amiga (some more RAM or even a Turboboard).

Last but not Least:

    I am a little hesitant to post this notice, because of its commercial
    aspects.  If this posting offends you please let me know by mail,

    Next week, August 6 to 11, I will be substituting for Steve Yanco at
    the System Eyes Computer Store while Steve is on his honeymoon.  I will

    Well after 5 years of Amiga owning, I'm throwing in the towel.  For
    professional reasons, and after much agonizing, I've decided that it's
    Clone time (I *do* program the bleeding things for a living).

    So here's the deal, I'm not sure if the C= 3000 Power Up deal is still
    going on, but here's *my* Power Up deal....


    THE DEAL
    --- ----

    o  Amiga 3000 25MHz, with 50M drive and 2M RAM.  (Bought in mid-June so
       there should still be 9+ months worth of warranty left, assuming
       that C= will let me transfer it.)

    o  All the 2.0 software and docs that came with it, including a system

       get 2.04 with little difficulty now that it's been released.)

       pretty good after 5 solid years of use.  This monitor won't let you
       take advantage of the special new modes that the ECS provides (except

I have an old Escort Hard drive controller that plugs on the expander bus and 
provides for SCSI control.  It does not autoboot, but otherwise runs fine.  It
is available for $100.00.  I also have a Spirit Tech. internal controller that 
plugs into the internal space in place of the 68000 chip.  It contains a SCSI
autobooting controller and space for 8 megs of memory (it actually has 2 megs on
the board.)  I can let you have that one for about $400.00.  I can also provide 
you an ST277N 64 Meg disk drive for $150.00, including power supply mounting
case and SCSI cable.  It is now plugged into my A3000 and functioning.

All software for low and high level formatting and manuals are available for
both controllers.  The Escort controller has a pass-through bus.  The Spirit 
Tech. controller leaves your external bus free.

    we're (supposedly) getting a good deal (~$400!) on new 200M Quantums

	I have called D.O.S. Marketing.  The disks that go for $420 are
Maxtor LXT-200S SCSI, 16 ms, new.  I thought that it was an LXT-213S.  I'm
sorry for any confusion.   The formatted capacity is 200 megs.
The drives were purchased new through an OEM.
He will provide a 9 month warranty.  He said that he has no problem in
shipping to every individual so long as he is prepaid and shipping is paid
on top of the drive price.  He said that they need to sell 100 though.
I think that I will try posting this message to USENET to see what other
people we can get in on this (to boost our numbers over 100).

	All drives are completely bare and come with nothing other than the
drive.  Optional items such as cabling, cases, software, controllers, etc.
will have to be handled by yourself.  This is done in order to deal with
the disparity in orders.

	I'd like to finish this deal up pretty soon.  DOS Marketing is eager
to deal with us (gee, I wonder why :).  I'd like to set a tentative timeframe
of 2 weeks.

As a followup to an earlier note:

The "usenet" 200M SCSI deal is finally nearing completion.  The vendor
is selling the 200M Maxtor LXT-200S for $439 + $15 shipping = $454.
This is a very fast 3 1/2" drive, that I believe is 1.6" high.  1 year
warranty is standard.

	I know we're all far too young to remember 3D movies, but I have heard
that they used to hand out 3D glasses at movie theatres for free.

	If anyone (or their parents or grandparents) have a couple of sets
of these hanging around the attic, basement, wherever - I'd like to buy them,
or borrow them for a short while if thats the only alternative.

Many stores that specialize in selling comic books sell 3D glasses.
