	Can anyone tell me if there is a substantial difference between a 500
parallel port and a 1000 port?  I know the 500 is female, and I think the 
1000 is male.  But are the pin assignments different?  Reason is, I talked to
Gary Vaillette about his LJ252 connect, and he has a 1000.  I wanna make sure
it'll work with my 500.

	I would doubt if they are compatable pin assignments. When I upgraded from a 1000 to a 2000 the hardest part was to get my printer working ( two of the pins are exchanged ). I did put a note in about what lines but don't remember which one ( sometime in December '88 in a topic on 1000 to 2000 upgrades ) Hope this helps, Dick
