I've been considering buying a DeskJet (for $595) from APE in Northboro
Mass. The DeskJet output is incredible; at 300 DPI it's
indistinguishable from laser output.
I did a scan on PLINK for DeskJet files, and I found what appears to be
either a new DeskJet driver OR instructions on how to set Preferences
to get the best results with DeskJet. If you're interested, I'll
download the file from PLINK and post it here.

| PLease note that the price of the DeskJet should be droppiong now due
to the release of the DeskJet +. The Plus is faster, has more built in
fonts but is slightly noisier due to the speed.
N.B. One of the built in features is LANDSCAPE.

One local shop here in Northboro MA is selling DeskJet for $595 and
DeskJet Plus for $695. It's APE (Applied Progressive Electronics).
The main difference is that the Plus can print text 2X faster and
graphics 5X faster. Also, the Plus comes with fonts up to 30 points
high.
These prices are actually the best I've seen, even after scouring
through Computer Shopper.

Hi,
I have been using a HP Deskjet + for About 1 month on my Amiga 1000.
There is a driver for the HP Deskjet ( not plus ) on Workbench 1.3.
So far the operation has been flawless. The text is true LQ, and
the graphics are superior to any dot matrix printer ( 300 dpi ).
Like I said I have the Plus and am using the plain Deskjet driver
with no problems, however you need the new plus driver to use the
fonts and other functions of the new printer. I 've seen ads in
Amigaworld by some vendor for a DESKJET PLUS driver.
BY one its the best BUY out there.
