Does anyboby know if there are any cheap tape-backup system? Or can I add a Cipher 525 tape streamer (30megs) to an SCSI controller? Or any other tape drive from the I.B.M. environment..? If any of the above can be added what software can be used.. Quarterback , Turbobackup , MRBackup Please help me to find the answers to the above I don't fancy spending hours and hundreds of floppies to backup my hard drive (when I finally get it) Thanks Steve G.

I have used a DEC TZK50 and a exabyte 8mm drive with the GVP SCSI controller. All the software was custom ( written by me ). I have a version of TAR modified by GVP. I am currently working on making my software work with a 2090A controller. Steve Peters P.S. GVP sells a 150MB 1/4" tape for their controller. | |||||

There are also major efforts from CBM to get Tape support for the 209xx. You should see the results in about 3 months... BTW, TurboBackup is a very fast and relieable disk copy program and not a HD backup tool. Regards, <CB> |
