I am a fairly heavy user of my AMIGA 500 as a remote terminal, and so use a number of the Terminal Emulation packages which have been announced in this notes file over the years. My problem is that I am getting fed up with the little white labels I had to stick on my keyboard because none of these emulators support the AMIGA keymap option. My keyboard is NOT American English (the reason for this is that I do not live in America!). Does anyone know if there is a VT220/VT300 emulator around which does support keyboard mapping, or failing that, is it possible to get some source code to hack? After a while you begin to realiye that zour terminal is not quite right... The real problems start when I use mz AMIGA locallz as a PC! Thanks, David

The emulator I found 'till now that support keymapping is VLT. VLT is a nice VT100/Tek4010/4014 emulator (even supports PAL). However it's emulation isn't nearly as perfect as Meshugena/Wheat or Handshake (all of 'em do NO keymapping) and it's file transfer options don't support multiple files. So I'm still using Handshake, which certainly is braindead at some areas and has some minor bugs but still is the most useable tool I came across. Regards, <CB> |
