2630.1 | Copy-protection | SANFAN::BARRETODE | | Fri Jun 09 1989 14:26 | 14 |
| Picked up Gunship a couple of days ago...same problem. The game
looked good enough to break a long-standing rule to avoid copy
protected software. So much for rules...
I've seen the same problem with other software. In theory you can
make an identical copy. In practice it isn't alwayis identical.
Marauder only copies 80 tracks but more are available. If there's
something one those extra tracks that Gunship is looking for, it
isn't going to work.
Anyone who comes up with a fix for Gunship will have my eternal
gratitude.

2630.3 | Please no `PIRATE' complaints. | RUTILE::BISHOP | | Mon Sep 03 1990 11:11 | 10 |
| The copy protection of my version of gunship (ST!!!) reads track 81
and 82. However track 82 must be unformatted (or something like that).
When i used PROCOPY for the ST and placed an unformatted disk, and
copied all tracks up to 81, leaving out track 82. This works.
However when i copied the whole disk, including track 82 (which would
have no data anyway) the thing bombed.

2630.4 | About AMIGA GUNSHIP | EEMELI::LINDEN | | Tue Sep 04 1990 01:35 | 10 |
| If this GUNSHIP is for AMIGA, the European version has manual
protection so you can easily make backup disk using normal FULL DISK
Copy program or just plain File copy. So that you can use the Backupdisk
as your game disk. The US version may have different protection(remember
FALCON, European - DISK protection vs. US - CODEWHEEL protection).
