2615.0. "Video Connector Name?" by SHARE::DOYLE () Thu Jun 01 1989 13:19

    Can anyone tell me the official (technical) name of the Amiga
    Video connector?
    I'm looking to order a switchbox to allow me access to my Commodore
    RFmodulator (A5**?) as well as the RGBA on my 1084, without haveing
    to unplug the cables.
    							Thanx;

    If you mean the type of connector, it is a subminiature D-type 23 pin
    male connector or a DB23P. Good luck finding an AB switch that is
    sufficiently shielded and uses DB23 style connectors. The bare
    connectors are hard enough to find.

    I have made DB23p-s (sockets) by sawing off a db25s which is a rs232
    connector in radio shack. I sawed off the last two holes and filed
    it so it would fit. But then you have to count the holes very
    carefullybecause the numbers embossed on the connector are then
    wrong.

    Make three DB23 to DB25 cables and you can use the DB25 switch-box.
    Actually, DB9 might be enough, but these is a good chance that DB9
    switch-boxes are actually more expensive than DB25 boxes.

    Probably easier to just swap the connectors as needed.

2615.4Looks like........SHARE::DOYLEMon Jun 05 1989 16:567
    Well, after a quick search through assorted
    catalogs,magazines,radioshaks, and computer stores, it looks like
    I'll have to customize.
    	Wish me luck..

    Not sure this helps but - Note 550.2 tells where you can possibly
    buy the connectors you're looking for.
