Does anyone have a C64 emulator? I've seen C64 emulator II listed, is it worth the $49 asking price? Also, is a C64 5 1/4 inch disk compatible with AMY? What would I need to do to get the 5 1/4 inch games disks coppied to my AMY's 3 1/2 inch disk, is this supported or would I need to include a permenant 5 1/4 inch disk for my system? How well does the C64 emulator work? I have a friend that has tons of C64 software, and have been considering getting the emulator, if someone has been doing this, please respond with as much information as possible regarding the PRO's and CON's of this configuration. Thanks!

I still believe that the best emulator for a C=64 *is* a C=64. If your kids want to play (usually heavily copy-protected) C=64 games, you're much better off with a used C=64 feeding into the TV set (or better yet an inexpensive NTSC monitor). For a modest extra investment (less than the cost of a good Amiga application or productivity tool), you gain the ability to use the Amiga while your kids play games and you can set aside the fear that they'll damage Ami with sticky fingers and/or static electricity. |
