Tip for MSDOS on FF#159 (not sure if right disk!) User with only one disk drive may not be able to use the program as (I think) it changes the disk drive into one that will only read MSDOS format disks. The trouble with this is that it does not reset the disk drive for use by AmigaDOS. (AT least NOT on my version). The way to get round this is if you have WB 1.3, before running the program type MOUNT RAD: so that it mounts the recoverable ram disk and then run MSDOS on the FF disk. When MSDOS has done its work and copied a file to the RAM: drive you must copy the file to the RAD: drive which after resetting the machine can be copied to another floppy and the ram disk removed. The RAD: device must be removed as it stops the Amiga rebooting from a disk drive. The program is pretty poor as it stands so is it possible to get it modified so it allows you to go into sub-dirs. as the version I have does not. I also get problems with only 1k or so of text files being copied over - ANY solutions????? -Ian-

Hi Ian, This utility is painful to say the least it seems randon as to how long a file you get. I have not found anyway around it .Have you seen the note about Programs you like to run It mentions PcC720 don't know if this is PD or not.. Pete |
