AWE S%@# ! (Just when I was starting to like this system)
What's the bad news when I get this message every time I try to
set the date & time (or read the clock at boot) -
"Battery backed up clock not found"
Is it a chip, battery, or what!

The same thing happened to me and it turned out my power cord was
loose.
It was kinda weird cause everything else worked fine.
Of course I'm assuming that you have the One meg Expansion unit.
But as soon as I pushed the cord in securely into the back of my
A500, it worked fine.

| 2540.3 | A2000 clock problem fixed | HPSCAD::GATULIS | Frank Gatulis | Tue May 09 1989 19:17 | 16 |
Whew clock problem solved. Apparently, my clock somehow got "locked
up" somehow. I can acount for this as it seemed to happen in
coincidence with a visit from the GURU. That's when I noticed
the problem for the first time.
Thanks to some helpful dialogue from a related problem on an A500
I tried some things. It turns out that I couldn't clear it at
all from 1.3 but a simple re-incarnation of a 1.2 floppy and it
responded correctly to the 1.2 version of SETCLOCK OPT SAVE
How do people in Amiga world survive who don't have access to
the knowledge we DECis can access via notes files? The frustration
level must be incredible (along with their phone bills).

As terrific a place this notesfile is, I suggest that those with an
extra $30-$40 per month to spare sign on with PLINK. While we have
been blessed with the likes of Randy Meyers, Wes Plouff and others, the
level of competence and experience in the AmigaZone on PLINK is
staggering. Wanna speak directly to Dave Haynie or Andy Finkel? No
problem. Wheras there are perhaps a hundred or two DEC Amiga noters,
PLINK boasts around 6,000 members of the AmigaZone.
