I listened to a talk by Steve Tibbet last night at the local Amiga
club about viruses. The latest official release by Steve is VIRUSX3.2,
however, there are 2 clones (clowns) going around the BBS's called
VIRUSX3.3 - THESE ARE NOT FROM STEVE! One appears to be 3.1 relabeled
to be 3.3, but the other is actually a virus and will infect your
disks when it says it is cleaning them. As a result of this he will
not release a VIRUSX3.3, the next official release will be either
3.4 or 4.0. He is hoping to go to a data file for virus types so
that he only has to release that and not the entire show...
Please pass on the word, AVOID VIRUSX3.3!

PS He receives 3-4 disks a week. He currently has at least 5 new
viruses for the next version.

Thanks for the info. I didn't see VirusX3.2 anywhere on the new (maybe didn't look hard enough), so I picked up a copy from a friend. I put it in NORSE::AMIGA:[Upload]. I'm running it,and it APPEARS to really BE VIRUSX. BTW, who do we send mail to when we upload to Norse? I've forgotten. John | |||||
