2408.0. "Dpaint screens & basic programs cont..." by NZOV01::MCKENZIE (Support your right to arm bears) Wed Mar 29 1989 17:56

Ok - more help required for a novice Amiga Basic Programmer

I have been using DPaint screens and a program on the Extras
disk called "loadACBM" to display dpaint screens as part of a
    database I'm writing....

when the program runs it opens a screen and window - then loads
the dpaint screen/blacks out the screen and displays the Dpaint
image. This if fine however I have one little nit...

Every time a new screen is loaded the screen and window borders
are re-drawn. I have seen professional programs that simply black
out the screen and draw the image - without all the re-displaying
of screen and window borders - how can I duplicate this effect?

    any help appreciated...

2408.1Why don't you buy a database?GUCCI::HERBWed Mar 29 1989 19:4412
I am pretty sure that "amiga tips & tricks" by Abacus has a program to
do that or you could always send away for thje disk that has the
    programs.

I have another solution. Have you tried using there palette
command to make the window seem invisible?

Do you know how to get rid of dpaint pictures from memory after
    they have been used?

re .-1 I've tried setting up a pallette for black and using the
color command to hide the screen/window borders but the command
seems only to work withing screen/window borders

do you have an address for Abacus ?

yes there is a WINDOW CLOSE command -

    WINDOW CLOSE window-id

but I'm not sure if this clears the DPAINT image from memory

    Thanks for your help Matt
