MaxiPlan Plus or MaxiPlan 500 are fully Intuition-ized spreadsheets
with just about every conceivable feature. You can select a range
of cells with the mouse and the Amiga will speak out the cells
contents, with or without naming the cell, whichever you prefer.

| I *think* that microemacs 3.10 for the Amiga will have support for blind
operation. I spoke to the author about it once - he tests it by turning
off the monitor.
Try inquiring in the Microemacs section of "The Programmer's Room",
a BBoard in Lafayette, IN (317) 742-5533.

| .4 Do you have a company name for the producer of MicroEMACS? I can't
find it in any of my catalogs.
F.Y.I. the group developing and marketing Amiga Talk (AmiTalk) as they
refer to it had contractural differences two weeks ago and will no
longer be delivering the product. The developer still has the code but
who knows where and who he or she is.
If anyone has company names that helps. I buy direct from the national
distributors which helps me keep prices lower than mail order. Without
company names, I have difficulty finding some titles.
Thanks for all the help so far. I'll be contacting the Mass. Commission
for the Blind and talking to the Technology Director sometime today.

2360.6 | There's no company, this stuff is free | PRNSYS::LOMICKAJ | Jeff Lomicka | Wed Mar 15 1989 12:54 | 9 |
| There is no company involved. Microemacs is freeware/shareware, and
the Sysop of the aforementioend BBoard system is the author. It has a
large following in the PC clone community, as well as many other types
of machines, including Amiga, Atari ST, and every flavor of Unix.
If BBoard systems give you the creeps, mail me a phone number and I'll
see if I can get him to contact you.

2360.7 | Don't laugh too hard | NACMIS::WILLETT | | Wed Mar 15 1989 13:10 | 17 |
| I don't have problems with the concept of BBoard systems. I just
haven't gotten myself a modem yet. Hard to believe I'm sure but with
the wealth of software available on internal nodes, I haven't needed to
rush out and get one. I am using MS/DOS on an IBM compatible so and my
need is to obtain something to run on an Amiga so that possibly
complicates things a bit as well. This product would be for the persons
business so my first choice would be to purchase a product from a
distributor. I'm also able to purchase most products from games to
business software anywhere from .10 to .60 on the dollar so public
domain software hasn't been any advantage for me.
All that aside I would like to pursue getting more information about
Microemacs since I keep running into roadblocks elsewhere.
Thanks for the feedback,
Terry

I am very sad to hear about this. AmiTalk was a very valuable product.
My offer from 1898.1 still holds. I have a copy of the AmiTalk demo disk.
It is a completely functional system, with one addition: every 5(?) minutes
it speaks a 30 second commercial for itself. Send me a blank floppy, and
I'll copy the AmiTalk demo on to it and send it back to you.
When I got the demo, the AmiTalk people encouraged me to spread as many
copies of it as possible. So, there is nothing underhanded in this.
I know someone how used the demo for a period of months before he could
afford to buy the real thing.
