Poor Person Software has released a demo version of their Amiga HyperText application, called Thinker. I've uploaded the demo to NORSE""::AMIGA:[UPLOAD]THINKER.ARC. The file is in 128 byte format (use XMODEM). What good is hypertext? I'm not sure, since I have little experience with Hypercard on the MAC. After all the initial commotion, many people in the MAC notes are treating it as a clever toy; others seem to be doing great things with it. You be the judge. The demo feels fast and solid, but I believe it will be frustrating without a hard drive. Ed.

It's in NORSE""::AMIGA:[DEMOS] Whilst looking in the UPLOAD area, there were other files in there called :- BLK.SH BLK.ZOO DMAKE.ZOO DNET_V2_0_BETA.ZOO EVAL.ZOO FLYER.PS IFFTOPS.SH MAN20.SH P2.SH ZC.SH ZC.ZOO Anyone claim them? I'd like to know what they are so I can put them in the correct area? What format is '.SH'? Martin

I put most of those other files there. They are files from Usenet and are described in 2337.2 and 2337.5. Let me know if you object to my placing these files there. A file with a .SH extension is a shar file. It is just a bunch of text files appended together with information added to make breaking them up into separate files easier. There are several shar un-archivers in various places, or they can also be unpacked by hand with an editor (this is cumbersome, though). Mark -=>

In no way, shape, or form do I object to anyone putting files in the AMIGA:[UPLOAD] are on NORSE. All I ask is to be told, by ALL-IN-1 or VAXmail what the files are so that 1/ I know what they are (as they might supercede other files) 2/ So I can put them in the right place (e.g. demos, utilitites, etc) I am pleased to accept any software you may want to offer, and am glad that you are using the facility that I've provided. Don't think that I was slapping your wrist - I wasn't. Martin |
