Has anyone figured out how to work the Caligari demo on TAPE:: ?? I have downloaded it, and it looks great!! I can place a primative object and render it (only one object). The rendering is fast and looks great! I think Caligari works interlace mode with NO APPARET FLICKER!! But, this is all I can do. I don't know what to do with the following files? Ncga.drw N.idx, N.dat New-Scene.idx, New-Scene.dat preview I read somewhere that Caligari cost $1500. This demo is about the best looking package I've seen on the Amiga. But, $1500!?!? May be for IBM PC. May be for a Mac. But, not for my humble Amiga. I guess there is a price to pay for fame. =Mike (who-now-has-two-A500s)

I played with the demo some too. It does seem impressive, but without docs I don't know how to use a lot of it. I spoke to and got a brief demo from a Memory Location representative at the Boston Computer Museum's Kid's Fair last weekend. He said he uses the demo version (which is like the full version except with no saves allowed) by recording to videotape. Interesting, thought ... you can buy a lot of RAM and a nice VCR for the $1999 list price of the "real" program. I also read an article in one of the Amiga Magazines that descibed the demo as an $18 item from Caligari. Does anyone know if that includes a manual? Dave |
