| Saw an ad two weeks ago that mentioned "Commodore C-64 and Amiga"
in its list of machines represented. If this is anything like the
last several, there will be at least one hardware and three or four
software places attending. This is also a great place to get
diskettes -- bulk-pack Sonys or surplus from PC software manufacturers
for $1.10 or less apiece. (One batch I bought a few months ago
had Ashton-Tate labels, and also a guarantee from the seller, who
was based in E. Mass.)
Lotta good stuff there if you know what you're looking for.

| I picked up a NEC FD1035 3 1/2" disk very cheap at the show, but there
was no manual of course. Does anyone know what the strapping for the
drive is? I say strapping because it is hardwired and jumpers.
Thanks for any info available.

2273.5 | Great way to get bargains | LEVERS::PLOUFF | Semipro Semiologist | Mon Feb 27 1989 09:13 | 9 |
| Signs of the times: 3-1/2" diskettes, labeled as OS/2 products, bulk
erased, 50 for $40. I bought some like this six months ago and have
had excellent results. Of the current batch a couple make noise but
otherwise they look really good. Zoom 2400 baud modems for $105 plus
tax. These would be some things to look out for at the next show in
Marlboro, Mass, in a couple of months. In general, these shows are
great places to pick up non-Amiga-specific hardware.
Only two Amiga software dealers, sigh...

| re: .5
make that 3 dealers, if you count public domain software. Only about 10
titles, but they were new stuff, not best of old Fred Fish disks.
And yes, I had to ask for them, only the ibmpc stuff was on the
table.
I went for the $79 for 100 3.5" recycled disks. I have gotten bad
disks that way, but they do guarantee them. Just exchange them
for good ones at the next show.

Not surprising: All of the Amiga dealers are probably saving themselves
for AmiExpo in New York this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
