| The files can be found at WINERY::USER3$:[COLLUM]WALKER2DISK1.WRP
and WALKER2DISK2.WRP. These files are in warp format, one for each
disk. Each file is just under the size of a disk, so they can be
downloaded to a blank disk , then warped to DF0:. I haven't copied
these back to my system to see if everything's ok. Could the first
person who tries please post a reply here. I'd hate to have a lot
of people waste a *lot* of download time if they're not good.
Thanks, Jim

2120.2 | Am I the First??? | LITE::J_PARSONS | Like Lesser Birds on the 4 Winds... | Thu Jan 19 1989 21:14 | 7 |
| I got the demo unwarped this afternoon. Works like a champ! I think
it's much more impressive than the original, and can't wait to see
what the real thing will look like (This seems to be a 'preview'
for the real Walker II demo, which they say will be out this Spring).
I wonder what these guys could do if they had a hard disk to work
with instead of just 2 floppies?

It seems a shame that the majority of folks won't be able to enjoy
this demo. I happen to have 3 megs of RAM, but most of us are probably
using 1 meg machines. I plan to download this over the weekend,
and I have an idea...
I can make a videotape of the animation using my C-View RGB=>Color
Composite adaptor. We can use replys to this note, in order, as a
'mailing list' to send the videotape to. I'll send the tape to the
first person on the list, who would send it to the second, and so on
until there's no more interest, at which time it would return to me.
I don't know what US Mail would charge for mailing a tape, since
I've never done it, but it can't be more than a few dollars. I'm
willing to sacrafice a new tape and the first postal trip.
Any takers?

2120.4 | Good Idea. | DEBIT::SOO | Chong Soo | Fri Jan 20 1989 08:18 | 4 |
| We can group people by the sites they work at and pass it around by
hand within a site. Hack, we can have one copy of the tape per site!

2120.5 | ### Sign me up ### | NWD002::FREEMANRO | FIREWALKER | Fri Jan 20 1989 11:59 | 23 |
| Gentlemen,
Please sign me up. Not everyone has even a 1 meg machine. I'm
still running on 512k and have plans to expand this spring. But
there are several people in my office that are looking at Amiga's
and a demo like this would certainly provide fuel for the fire.
I work in the Northwest District ( Seattle, WA ) and would be happy
to pay for a demo and help spread the word. Here's another thought
I'd like to toss out...could you put several demo's on the tape.
It would be nice to show the ability and diversity of Amy and her
supporters. Perhaps it wouild be possible to make copies locally
and let the distributors show it to prospective Amiga owners. The
last idea may be a bit much, but I would appreciate having several
demo's on one tape. I would even be willing to mail you a blank
tape if you have no objections.
So let me know what you want to do and I'll be happy to help.
My mail address is :
NWD002::FREEMANRO

Thanks....

2120.6 | The tape is taped. | LEDS::ACCIARDI | Man Dies Laughing - Film at 11:00 | Tue Jan 31 1989 08:46 | 15 |

Well, I had actually finished recording the Walker II demo last
week. It's very impressive, but doesn't run very long. The animation
is probably better than anything Disney has ever done.
I also put the famous NewTek demo on the tape, plus some random
stuff from the last year or so. I brought the tape into work, and
it's been going round the office for a week or so. When I get it
back, I'll send it up to Rob Freeman (reply .4), who can send it
to the next interested party.
By the way, if anyone else feels like recording anything onto the
tape, feel free. Please, nothing obscene. Well, too obscene.

| Well, where is the tape now? Is someone hogging the tape? Could
someone let me know when it gets to ZKO? Thanks.

Sorry for the delay, but the tape keeps getting taken off of my
desk. I have it now, and will send it on to Chong Soo, if he will
e-mail his home address to me.

| Fear not, 1Meg users! A New version of Walker II demo is in the
works for 1 meg machines! It'll load in as it goes. I have a 1M
A500, but my roommate has a 3M A2000. That demo is DAMN impressive!

Does anyone know if the 'actual' demo has come out yet? Ya know, the
one that Walker II said would be realeased in the Spring of '89?
Anyone, anyone...
