2101.0. "timer failure chip?" by JFRSON::OSBORNE (Blade Walker) Tue Jan 10 1989 07:43
I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find the note:
Last night, my Amiga 2000's timer failed. (f'rinstance, Clock is stopped)
Everything else seems okay. Since I don't have a hardware manual, I'm
not sure what chip is involved, where to go for replacement, or whether
I should attempt the repair myself, but it seems there have been a number
of notes on failures of the parallel or serial port chips, and that the
timer is implemented on one of these.
Advice on fixing the Amy, or a pointer to the appropriate note would
be appreciated.

2101.1 | Schematics in back | FSDEV1::JBERNARD | John Bernard 292-2591 YWO/E3 | Tue Jan 10 1989 08:21 | 3 |
| In the back of your 2000 manual that came with the system is a set
of schematics. This might help...

2101.2 | 8520 parallel port chip | JFRSON::OSBORNE | Blade Walker | Thu Jan 12 1989 13:09 | 4 |
| It was the 8520 CIA chip. Omnitek has 'em in stock, all is well now.
