| I think you just want ":c/display" in the default tool type. It appends the
name of the file whoose icon you selected automatically, so to speak.

| That was one of the trys I made. Anybody have any experience with utilities
that can't be run from workbench this way?

Was the error "Cannot open tool :c/display"?
Did you try changing the default tool to c:display?

Not really, I get the default tool but "display" doesn't know about
my file associated with the icon. The problem is that I don't seem
to be able to get the icon to pass the filename to "display" the same way I
can from CLI.

| Project icons only work if the application was designed to run that way.
The argument is passed differently than with a CLI command interface.
You may have to use IconX, tho it may not meet your needs either.
