I'd like to add a second external floppy drive to my A-500. The questions I have are: 1) will the original power supply be able to handle the extra current (I've got the additional 500k/clock option installed), 2) can I simply "daisy chain" the drive cables and 3) what do I have to do to the second drive to identify it as DF2: Dave

the power supply is designed to handle the 512K memory expansion and one external disk drive. Beyond that you're on your own. Some of the third party diskdrive vendors sell a small power supply to provide power for a 2nd external drive. Or there are replacement power supplies for the A500 that provide more juice than the CBM brick. The daisy chain will take care of selecting the second drive as DF2: (4 select lines, the each drive grabs select line 0, and passes the rest on, shifted down by one line) -Dave | |||||
