2072.0. "RGB DEMO is PAL (aaarrrggg!!!)" by SPIDER::LONG () Tue Jan 03 1989 22:37

I just spent a few nights downloading the RGB demo only to later read that
it only works on a PAL system. I seem to remember someone mentioning a
utility that would allow me to perform some magic that would let me see this
without a garbled screen. Anybody know what it it called so I can hunt in one
of the PD directories?

	Thanks,

2072.2Mine wasn't PAL...LOWLIF::DAVISThat's not a BUG, it's a FEATURE!Wed Jan 04 1989 09:478
I'm confused. Are we talking about the RBG demo that was done with the
Director? I got mine to work on my 2000 if I did a reboot and Ctrl/D
to stop the startup-sequence, and then ran it. (It liked lots of RAM)

I got mine from a Fish disk that is online on TAPE::. I think the file
name was HAGEND.ARC. Is that what you are wanting??

    The RGB demo under discussion here is not the one you are talking
    about. This is a new demo done by some guys in Italy, supposedly
    very impressive but I don't think we'll ever find out except via
    secondhand reports.

    I got RGB to work on my 3 MB A2000, but only after I ran a utility
    called PALORNTSC.ARC (or something like that) from the WJG:: directory.
    It looks really nice, but I don't know if it was worth all the trouble
    to get it working.

    I still was unable to get the MOIBIUS (sp) demo to work, however.

I'll try the SETPALORNTSC.ZOO on the RGB demo. If you got MOBIUS off usenet,
don't waste your time downloading. There are reports on usenet that it is
corrupted.

As a side topic on huge PD files, why don't people mention upfront what the
system requirements are so we can decide if it's worth downloading? I wasted
a lot of time with MATLAB to be told I needed a coprocessor board or it would
crash.
