Any BIX users out there? They are now offering flat-rate (i.e. no hourly charges) membership option as a market test. The prices being quoted seem quite reasonable. My question is: What can I expect to find on BIX for Amiga? How do their conferences and software libraries compare to other services? Comments, experiences, etc...?

For Amiga-specific stuff, I've found PEOPLELINK to be all that I need; I've had a BIX account for a couple years now, and since I signed on to PLINK, I really haven't used it. Between PLINK and Usenet, there's more than enough access to to various developers, CBM employees, and PD software. -Art

At the $99/year unlimited use current rate I think BIX is a bargain. I agree that their previous pricing was expensive. It is very useful to be. It is a near local call without TYMNET which makes it even better. -SES

Does BIX have any other services other than conferences and software? Does it offer an online encyclopedia and/or other general research tools? Also, what is the current rate? Thanks, George |
