Can you tell us how much and where you bought it from?
I'd appreciate it!

| The Software Shop in Worcester has a box of them. Expect to pay
something just over a hundred. ~$115
The orginal manufacturer name starts with the letter "K". It seems
that the cable was moved to the other side and the AT/XT switch
is in the XT position. [Hence the re-work price is a little high]
You can get their number from Amaga World or in this notesfile.

This sounds interesting. As an A1000 owner, I would love a more
LK'ish keyboard. I have a few questions about the macros and the
extra keys.
o Can you over-ride and/or change the assigned macros?
o Does C-Ltd supply you with a new keymap and/or device driver?

no, unless you can figure out what Cltd did to convert an ibmpc
keyboard to work on an Amiga. I've heard that you can plug it in
without hurting the Amiga, but nothing happens because it isn't
sending the protocol the Amiga expects to see.

2017.7 | IBM style KB for Amiga 500. | GIDDAY::ASHLEYM | | Thu Nov 02 1989 00:33 | 9 |
| Can anyone tell me if I can use an AT/XT style keyboard on an Amiga
500? I am not to impressed with the feel and layout of the Amiga keyboard.
I get the impression that the keyboard interface would be parralell and
you would have to some how convert the serial data, probably use a UART
or something. But the next question, is there a keyboard map that you
can use to map the different keys on the IBM style keyboard for the
Amiga.
Thanks in advance Mark.

| ...apparently not yet.
I have tried connecting the LK250 keyboard (which is the LK201 that is
configured as a plug compatible XT/AT keyboard).....but it does not
seem to have the correct keyboard mapping. Electrically, it seems
to be fine though.

2017.9 | I think C-Ltd. might make one... | CGOFS::CADAMS | Clint Adams - Calgary, Canada | Thu Nov 02 1989 16:36 | 9 |
| I think I remember someone talking about a keyboard repalcement made by
C-Ltd. It was an AT style keyboard that is set up to send the correct
scan codes etc. with programmable function keys and other goodies. If
remember correctly, it was in the $100-$200 range.
I'm sure there is a reference to it some time ago in this notes file or
maybe the UseNet.

| re .9:
Compusave had it at one of the Northeast computer shows. Your price
range matches what I remember of it. Haven't seen it anywhere since
then. Though I think it was a IBM enhanced style keyboard, not an
AT style (seperate editing pad, function keys along the top, etc...)
Didn't seem to be much demand for it.

| re: Amiga 500 keyboard
have you compared the feel of the 500's keyboard to the A2000 keyboard?
Maybe it's just me, but I was shocked to find out how cheap the
500's keyboard felt (it looked the same so I assumed it felt the
same).
There has been a couple folks on usenet recently describing how
to add the A2000 keyboard to the 500 and 1000.
