See note 1791.* for a discussion of this very topic.
I have the ASDG 8 Meg board. It is minimal refresh, supports the six
meg configuration, and in general well designed. You may have to
order it directly from ASDG. They usually have an ad in Amiga World
and Amazing.
The ASDG board and the Commodore card have an advantage over the
Microbiotics card: they use chips, not SIMMs. Chips are cheaper.
See 1791.* for further discussion.

The six meg configuration doesn't fall out naturally from autoconfig:
it takes some extra work on the part of the board designer to support
it. Early 8 meg boards didn't support it. ASDG was the first to support
it, and was proud of that fact. I think that Microbiotics is simply
pointing out that they also have this feature.
That bit about "bridgeboard users" sounds like some one was on drugs.
I makes about as much sense as "Our disk controller supports DMA, a
popular feature among bridgeboard users."

| I received my 8-up! yesterday, installed it last night. I'm very
pleased with it so far.
What made this particular unit a big win for me was the fact that I had
access to 2-megs worth of 256K SIMMS essentially for free. This allows
me to get the RAM I need now without paying today's inflated prices. I
can wait for 1Meg prices to come down before expanding further. If you
can make a good deal to pick up used SIMMS from a MAC owner who's upgraded
recently this may be worthwhile.
When I called to order mine, the dealer told me there is another 8-up!
configuration available now that takes regular 1meg chips (not SIMMS).
(And no, it's not the "pop-SIMMS" either.) That would be very similar
to the ASDG unit.
The dealer I used is InterComputing [(800)531-4747], they advertise in
AmigaWorld. They are within driving distance of Microbotics (in Texas)
and the guy I talked to seemed quite familiar with their products.
