Hi.
A friend of mine has an old version of PageSetter from back
when it first came out. I think it is version 1.0. He recently
got a hold of the new printer driver stuff, and attempted to install
the new drivers onto his PageSetter disk. He copied over the
system-configuration file, the drivers, and the Prefs directory.
However, when he attempted to produce output with the program, it
responded with "Incorrect Preferences Setting" or some such nonsense
like that. He tried several variations of this setup, including
using the old system-configuration and preferences files. It seems
that PageSetter refuses to use the new drivers. Does anyone know
of any solution to this?

| The old Pagesetter (current version is 1.1e) requires that you set
Preferences directly, then boot Pagesetter.
Threshhold = 2
Aspect = Horizontal
Shade = B&W (Note: You CANNOT print grey-scale with Pagesetter)
Image = Positive
Printer = Custom
Custom Printer Name = [your printer here]
Paper = Narrow Tractor
Pitch = 10
Spacing = 6
Quality = Draft
That ought to do it. It will not work (you'll get that error message
you mentioned) if you have grey scale selected.
