You may be shit out of luck, Art. There's a long thread on PLINK
flaming EA for such gross incompetence, especially since other products
have had 1.3 drivers for nine months or more.
As far as I've seen on PLINK, there's just no way top get it to
work.

Thanks Ed for the quick response. I had a feeling this wasn't
going to be a simple one. If you happen to see the solution
appear on PLINK, I would appreciate if you would keep me mind.

| I suggest you return it to where you purchased it, and ask them
to refund your money. They shouldn't be selling it if it doesn't
work with WB1.3.

John, if I had paid full price for this, I certainly would return
it! I forget just what I paid, but it wasn't that much as I got
it via an upgrade offer for registered owners of the original
DeluxePrint. Regardless, it was probably still too much! As I
use the package only once in a blue moon, and I am not artistic
enough to do what it does using one of the paint programs, I guess
I can live with running it off floppies - as much as I don't want
to!
Your point regarding it working with WB1.3 is well taken. This is
the type of thing that would confuse, and frustrate the average
AMIGA user to no end, causing him/her to write/spread disparaging
remarks, which unfortunately - no matter how well worded and
aimed - would reflect poorly on the AMIGA in general.

1953.5 | Problems with DPrint II and Citizen GSX 140 | NITMOI::WITHERS | Another Hallmark Moment. -Al Bundy | Mon May 21 1990 12:21 | 17 |
| Hi! I just bought DeluxePrint II and it won't print properly on my
printer. I have an Amiga 500 (1 Mg + 40 Mg HD) with a Citizen, 24 pin
color printer (GSX 140?). The printer works fine with ProWrite V2.5.1
and with DPaint II.
The DeluxePrint Print Request asks for the horizontal size of my page
and refuses everything except 1" and 2" (for these the image then
prints fine; alas the size of a postage stamp). Any other size will
stop before printing to complain the size is invalid.
Anyone else see anything similar to this? I am using the EpsonQ
driver. I also and trying to get in touch with EA but their support
hotline is rather cold (...ring...(28)...ring (29)...arrgh!).
Help!,

I had similar problems with DeluxePrint II, using the EpsonX driver
for my Panasonic 1091 - postage stamp size greeting cards and complaints
if the drawing size was anything over 2 inches. I switched over to the
EpsonXOld driver and all is well. Don't know if there's a similar one
for EpsonQ.

1953.7 | EpsonQ or EpsonX? | NITMOI::WITHERS | Another Hallmark Moment. -Al Bundy | Tue May 22 1990 11:26 | 7 |
| Well, I am waiting for Pacific time to allow a call to EA. Does someone a
little more intimate with Printers/Driver/et al. know the difference between
EpsonQ, EpsonX, and EpsonXOld? I have been using EpsonQ and it is the driver
I was told to use for my printer (Citizen-GSX 140 w/ Color). Can I use the
EpsonX or the EpsonXOld and not lose anything?

I can't claim intimacy, but here's a smidge of information.
EpsonQ is used for current Epson 24-pin models and non-Epson clones thereof.
EpsonX is used for current Epson 9-pin models and non-Epson clones thereof.
(I have a Star SG-15 that I've set up in "IBM mode" and which
works perfectly with this driver.)
EpsonXOld is used for older Epson 9-pin models and non-Epson clones thereof.
(There are several graphic modes and other features missing from
the older versions that this driver must compensate for using the
features that are present. The Star Gemini uses EpsonXOld.)

1953.9 | EA says density is too high | NITMOI::WITHERS | Another Hallmark Moment. -Al Bundy | Tue May 22 1990 12:58 | 9 |
| To reply with the fix EA gave me:
The density of the image for DeluxePrint is not capable of supporting
a 24-pin printer except when the Printer's Density is set at either
1 or 2. With Density set that low, full width to 7-8" should work.
I will test this tonight and come back with more if it doesn't go.
