1936.0. "C2" by GUCCI::HERB (AL) Thu Dec 01 1988 21:29

    1. Is there a way to play digitized sounds in amigabasic?

    2. Is it possible to display deluxe paint pictures as a background
    in amigabasic?

    3. Is there a game I can download that uses amigabasic sprites?

I am asking these questions because I want to make my amigabasic
as good looking as the ones programmed in C (if that is possible)?

    1. Yes, there is a way to play digitized sounds in amigabasic, but
I believe it requires a special library that futuresound provides.
You can find everything you need plus examples on one of the OLD
Fred Fish disks. (Don't remember the #)

    2. It is also possible to display deluxe paint pictures, and possibly
as a background depending on what you want to do with it. I'm not
sure how to do this because I don't know what format the pictures
are in. Some of the demo programs on the Extras disk may help you
    with this.

    3. I know there is, but can't recommend one right off. Again, the
BasicDemos directory on the Extras disk should have some examples
for this, and I believe the Basic manual does too.

I have transfered deluxe paint images to ACBM format. What commands
do I use to call the picture up in my program?

Am I the only person who programs in amigabasic?

Look in Extras:BasicDemos and there should be two programs,
LoadILBM.SaveACBM and LoadACBM. These should contain all the routines
    you need.

The programs may load the pictures up but they do not tell you how
to bring up the pictures in your programs.
