1903.1 get a second drive - ANYWAY!MERIDN::ROSCETTISome things u never get used toWed Nov 23 1988 11:4229

   Yes you can use SONIX with one disk drive - with one caution.

 There are three instrument "types" used by SONIX. RFF (modified IFF) samples,
 internal synth , and MIDI. The first time SONIX uses one of these instrument
 "types" it tries to go back to SONIX disk to load some form of driver.
 The problem is that if the disk has been removed it DOESN'T send a
 Requestor asking you to reinsert the disk. what it Say's is

		 CAN'T LOAD INSTRUMENT.

					OK

 The workaround is..

	Let SONIX come up..leave the sonix disk in

	select the instrument screen and load one of each instrument
        fom the Sonix disk.

	Now you can use the SONIX_DATA disk, to load instruments and songs.

PS. word of caution - SONIX can't do triplets or ties or....
    So consider DMCS as well.
