Is there a way of sending IFF files directly via E-mail? I've tried to convert to sixel format using CSIX (with erratic results) but I'd like to be able to send a digitized picture to my son at U-Mass so that he can then up-load from the schools VAX to his Amiga. Dave

Since an iff file is a binary file, you should probably at least uuencode it, and perhaps 'SH'ar it though I think uuencoding it is probably enough. If you arc it or zoo it first then uuencode it you will be able to check the integrity of the file when zoo/arc unpacks the file. uunecode, uudecode, and the latest copy of zoo are all still available @ tape::user1:[amiga...] and probably norse"":: whenever the TK50 arrives there. brad

Sixel files can be mailed. I haven't had any problem converting IFF to Sixel using CSIX. paul

< Sixel files can be mailed. I haven't had any problem converting < IFF to Sixel using CSIX. Trouble with that solution is that once converted to SIXEL, the file can't be reworked on with D-Paint. What I'm trying to do is send digitized (Digi-View) files to my son so that he can view and manipulate them on his A-500. Speaking of converting to SIXEL, can it be done on the Amiga or does it have to be downloaded to VMS and then converted? Dave |
