1872.1 | Problems with connection to Easynet | HARDLY::ELLISM | | Fri Nov 18 1988 17:12 | 5 |
| We have been having problems with our connections to easynet this
week. If you've been trying to access this library, you may have
had some difficulty. Hopefully, the PTT have cleared the problem.

| What is f18fix.uue?

1872.3 | New File Descriptions | LEDS::ACCIARDI | Insert witty anti-Dukakis slogan here - | Tue Nov 29 1988 12:05 | 34 |
| I moved this description file over here from 1814.*. It seems
more appropriate here. -Ed
I've made a number of new uploads to NORSE""::AMIGA[UPLOAD]. Per
Martin's approval, I expect you'll see them in [UTILITIES] soon.
AMIGAPLOT.ARC - This 3D equation plotter is so good that it's hard
to believe. Shareware by Joe Martin.
AMIGADEX.ARC - Another outstanding job. Your basic Rollodex file,
with an excellent Amiga-tized touch. Shareware.
QMOUSE14.ARC - Like MachII, but written in 100% assembler. This
is only 3.4 KBytes, versus 30+ KBytes for MachII. You get the
screenblanker, mouse-accelerator, PopCLI, hotkeys, macros, the Ginsu
knife set, all of Elvis' hits....
AMIGANTT.ARC - This is something that I haven't yet seen for the Amiga,
but it's encouraging. A functional Gantt chart (project planning)
program with an excellent Intuition interface. It's still a little
rough around the edges (PERT charts are offered in a drop down menu,
but aren't yet implemented, and the Critical Path option is also
incomplete.) Still, it's a start, and maybe with a little
encouragement the author will finish it. I plan to call him and
feel him out on how the enhancements are going. If it sounds good,
I'll send him a donation. If you've ever used MacProject, you'd
know how helpful this type of program can be.
All files are in ARC format, uploaded with XMODEM in fixed 128 byte
format.

| re .2
ff18.uue is a fix for F18 flight simulator. I can't remember exactly
what it does now. I'll be posting a reply here soon as to what is
in the library
re.3
All the software is in the library
I have created a new directory called applications. The project
manager software didn't seem to fit anywhere else (i'm typing this
in ahead of doing this, so give me 1/2 hr)

1872.5 | FA/18 Interceptor code wheel eliminator | DNEAST::COMBAR_CURT | Ayuh! I'm from Maine... | Sun Dec 11 1988 14:42 | 4 |
|
f18.uue fixes the FA/18 Interceptor disk so that you don't have
to use the silly codewheel to gain access to the program. With
this fix, all you have to type is 000 when it asks for the code.

1872.6 | AMIGA library available through DFS | HARDLY::ELLISM | | Tue Jan 10 1989 15:06 | 12 |
| The Amiga library is now available from DFS. To use DFS type :-
$MC DFS$CONTROL
MOUNT SALE_SERV.EUR.UK.NORTH_WEST.GENERAL.AMIGA AMIGA:
EXIT
If youthen type dir AMIGA:[000000] you will see the top level directory
for the amiga library.
I recommend using DFS, it's easier and quicker than DECnet.

1872.7 | obligatory defense | STAR::BANKS | In Search of Mediocrity | Tue Jan 10 1989 16:45 | 15 |
| Sorry to be so defensive about these things, but a minor quibble
with .6:
It is my understanding that DFS does use DECnet. It just doesn't
use the file transfer protocol that you normally get with the VMS
COPY command (DAP to be precise).
The statement would be properly worded:
"I recommend using DFS, it's easier and quicker than DAP."

1872.8 | BAND AID for hurt feelings | HARDLY::ELLISM | | Wed Jan 11 1989 18:32 | 4 |
| Sorry, I was refering to how most people would use DECnet. I hope
this is enough to form as a bandaid for your hurt feelings

1872.9 | Is NORSE sick? | VCSESU::MOORE | Tom Moore MRO1-3/SL1 297-5224 | Thu Mar 30 1989 02:08 | 10 |
| Norse seems to have a sick decnet account. I get the following. Can any else
get in?
$ dir norse::amiga:[*]
%DIRECT-E-OPENIN, error opening NORSE::AMIGA:[*]*.*;* as input
-RMS-E-FND, ACP file or directory lookup failed
-SYSTEM-F-INVLOGIN, login information invalid at remote node
$
Thanks for any help.

1872.10 | Library back on-line | IGETIT::ELLISM | Purring on a straight six.... | Thu Mar 30 1989 05:01 | 7 |
| Apologies for this. It seems to have happened when I put in a new
node to the LAVc. I'm running V5.2 FT1, and when I add a new node,
it really screws up the DECnet database.
Anyway It's working again now.
