I'm looking for someone that is willing to sell me any of their castoffs that will allow my 1000 to run IBM PC software. I guess the item I'm looking for is Sidecar (or whatever else works) and I need to know if it will run both XT and AT software. I'll be back at Nashua from Nov 7-18, so I could even pick it up in person. I'll also need to know if it comes with a 5.25 or 3.5 disk. Keith Bague @IVO (714)261-4190 (714)832-3628 --- home

1851.1 | May want Transformer instead. | RAVEN1::EVERHART | Thu Nov 03 1988 16:21 | 10 | |
The sidecar comes with a 5.25" drive built into it. It is an XT clone that attaches to your expansion bus. If you can deal with slow IBM emulationa and no graphics capabilities, you may elect to go TRANSFORMER route. Just purchase a 5.25" drive (about $150). The drive used to come WITH Transformer, but I'm not sure if it does now. If not, Transformer can be found in some places on the net. There is a debate, however, as to whether or not it is shareware. - Chris |
