1842.0. "the PC40-III" by BAGELS::BRANNON (Dave Brannon) Tue Nov 01 1988 18:07
PC Week, Oct 31, pg 12
New Commodore '286 PC
Commodore Business Machines Inc. is pursuing a stake in the U.S.
business market with a 12MHz, 80286-based PC. The PC40-III has
1M byte of memory, Video Graphics Array (VGA) graphics, a 5.25"
floppy disk drive and a 19-millisecond, 40Mbyte hard-disk drive.
The PC will be shipped in November through dealers. It costs
$2,395, or $2,595 with a paper-white monochrome monitor. Commodore,
of Philadelphia, can be reached at (215) 431-9100.
the picture looks like a small pc clone box, with room for 2 half
heights max. The keyboard plugs into the middle of the right side?

1842.1 | Amiga seems big push here | GIDDAY::BAKER | Can I $RUN DMC/detached ? | Tue Nov 01 1988 23:31 | 9 |
| That's interesting,
in Australia CBM have been really advertising hard for the last
few months with 4 page ads in the Australian Computerworld (Front 2
and back 2 pages) in full colour, but their vehicle is the A2*00.
Front page is an Amiga with a fist coming out of the screen. They
have also had the Unix Amiga in the profiles of machines they sell
A2500/UX with picture (funny how they all look the same 8^)).
The IBM clone line of machines are all their but most of the TV
advertising for business machines centre around the Amiga as well.

| CBM has ads in a number of magazines, haven't seen any TV ads around
here. Nothing so far on the Unix Amiga.
Amiga news tends to be ignored by the ibmpc magazines, but they
do notice CBM's clones. Nice to see CBM finally upgraded the
graphics controller to VGA.
