| Chris,
Just the other day I saw a program on comp.binaries.amiga that would
allegedly do the thing you are asking. It would detect diskchanges
and do the DISKCHANGE command for you. Check the Amiga_usenet
conference for the file. You'll probably have to unshar, and uudecode
it. I haven't really checked it out myself, as I haven't gotten
1.3 yet.

There's aready a program that lets you use FFS on you floppys.
It's called AutoChange and you can get it from:
Romuln""::dub3:[public.amiga]ffsfloppy.zoo (really autochange)
I haven't tried this program to see if using FFS on floppies are
worth it. So, tell me how it works out...

Ah, I believe I saw reference to an AUTOCHANGEDISK program that
obviated the need to tell the system that a MOUNTed floppy had been
changed. (Floppies need a mountlist entry under FFS).
I'll check PLINK. If this does exist, it may make FFS floppies
feasable. Unless someone can think of a good reason why this may
be dangerous.
Ed.
PS: Anyone who hasn't tried the FASTDISK program in my directory,
should. It rewrites the floppies in a totally compatible way
such that .info files and directory listings are located on
nearby tracks. Of course, as the disk fragments, the scheme
breaks down. FASTDISK really works. Icons pop up almost as
fast as a non-FFS hard drive.

| Thanks for the answers guys. Y'all probably just saved me about
a months worth of work, as it would take me that long to figure
out what the heck I was doing.
