1814.1 | You may need this sanity check... | ANT::GERBER | Robert Gerber | Wed Oct 26 1988 10:49 | 5 |
| You probably want to set up a directory structure with directories
for DEMOS, GAMES, UTILITIES, MUSIC, GRAPHICS, ... all of these
readonly, and one directory called NEW or UPLOAD for people to copy
into, this way you could see new stuff, as well as making sure
someone doesn't accidentally cause any problems...

1814.2 | go for it!!!! | GLDOA::STOUGHTON | INSTALLS-R-US | Thu Nov 03 1988 14:44 | 2 |
| This sounds like a good idea to me!!!!
|
1814.3 | on-line library is here | HARDLY::ELLISM | | Thu Nov 03 1988 17:22 | 32 |
| O.K.
I've created the structure as follows
NORSE""::AMIGA:[demos]
NORSE""::AMIGA:[GAMES]
NORSE""::AMIGA:[UTILITIES]
NORSE""::AMIGA:[MUSIC]
NORSE""::AMIGA:[GRAPHICS]
These directories all have w:re protection, which is the default
for any files copied into them.
If you want to send any software the directory is
NORSE""::AMIGA:[UPLOAD]
This directory is W:RWE protection.
If anyone has any ideas for other directories please mail me.
To enter anything in the library, copy the kit to the UPLOAD directory,
and send me a mail with a brief decsription of what is in the kit,
what version it is, if relevant, and what format it is in (.UUE
.ARC .ZOO, etc)
I'll try to regularly post a reply to give an update on what is
in the directories.
Enjoy
Martin

This seems to duplicate the archive we already have on
TAPE::USER1:[amiga...]
but I am willing to copy over what we have. We will continue to
support the TAPE archive. The archive currently requires 100,000
blocks of disk space. When I get the new FF disk upload working
the total space will reach 250,000 blocks. Do you have the
space ??

1814.5 | An RA81 | ATALL::ELLISM | | Fri Nov 04 1988 16:35 | 8 |
| I have an entire RA81 at our disposal!
If it would make it easier for you I can give you access so that
you can put stuff straight into the correct areas. As you already
run a library, you should know what should go where.

Is there a way to see what goodies TAPE::USER1:[AMIGA..] holds?

1814.7 | re.6 did you try the Directory command? | ALAZIF::WHERRY | | Thu Nov 10 1988 10:27 | 16 |

Have you tried :
$dir tape::user1:[amiga...]
????????????
Seems to work for me, of course I only have to type user1:[amiga...]!!
:-)
As soon as I can get to it, I will be building a TK50 with all of
the stuff from TAPE:: and that will be shipped to "the across the
pond archive"...courtesy of Martin Ellis.

Yup. By the way, I've moved note 1814.8 over to #1872, which is
a better location for file descriptions etc.
