1770.0. "POSTSCRIPT viewers???" by MANTIS::LONG () Wed Oct 12 1988 15:14

Is there any utility ( PD or commercial ) that will allow me to view POSTSCRIPT
files on the Amiga? So many people are putting their documentation into files
aimed at POSTSCRIPT printers that I come to a screaching halt when I find I
have to wait till the next day to print out something I only need to glance at
( my desk is piled a few feet high with documents I couldn't look at online )
I seem to be able to do about any kind of work at home nights but read PS
documentation. Getting an LPS40 for home seems a bit extreme.

I looked around for any mention of this and if I missed it please point me to
the proper note(s).

	Thanks,
		Dick

RE. 0
	I found the following in the contents description of Fish Disk 101.
    I have never used it, though. I believe fish disk 101 is available
    on node TAPE, which holds the files previously located in mvcad3.
    I'm sure another noter will answer with more details.

--------------------
PsIntrp A postscript interpreter that reads postscript files and
		previews them on an Amiga screen. Interactive input and
		output takes place in a small window. The page to be
		show is composed behind the window in an interlaced screen
		with 16 colors. Can also take input from a file. Includes
		source in assembler.

Re: .1

If this if the interpreter that I've tried using, it is a very limited
subset of postscript. For example, it lacked the postscript primitive
used for bitmapped images.

1770.4GHOSTSCRIPT maybe?DNEAST::PFISTER_ROBI cant put *THAT* here.....Fri Oct 14 1988 11:185
    GHOSTSCRIPT (from GNU) supposedly will display Postscript onto an
    X-Windows machine. It might be a bit much work to port it to the
    Amiga to. (Unless someone has written X-11 for the Amiga)

Someone has. But it hasn't been released yet.
