Anyone having (positive) experience using the Amiga as MIDI
    controller?

    - Which software ?
    - Which hardware interface ?

    Regards

I am borrowing a Mimetics interface which works fine. It is a amiga
    1000 interface, but I have a 500, but I built a convertor cable.
Get the right interface. I use Deluxe Music Construction set, which
can play the audio port and MIDI at the same time to 16 notes at
once on 8 staffs (2notes/staff). it can take in MIDI but other
sequencing programs may be better at reading your midi keyboard.
However, nothing beats DMCS at $70 for scoring, printing scores,
changing tempo per bar, changing time signature per bar, changing
key signature per bar, transposing, whatever.
It can hang up (not guru, just hang) if you mouse-ahead too much
after stopping a play in the middle.

I use the ECE MIDI interface, since it came with a serial bypass
switch. By using the switch I avoid having to change cables when
moving between DMCS and Smokey. I use the ECE to drive a MIDI switcher
    connected to a DX7, TX802, RX15 and SBX-80 without any problem.
I have had trouble doing system-exclusive uploads, but I can get
them to work by disconnecting the MIDI switcher, so it isn't an
    interface problem.
