Greetings. I have two questions: 1. Does anyone know what the rating of the little LED for the internal disk drive of the 1000 is? I accidentally broke the wire on mine, and although I've reconnected it, there's not much chance it will hold. There wasn't much left sticking out for the solder to adhere to. Also, a recommended place to get an LED would help. 2. Why does all of my communications software lock to the audio port as well as the serial port? For some reason, I can't run any music programs while I'm using the communication port. It can't access the audio port. This is odd. Any suggestions???? - The question asker, Chris

I got a schematic with the 500, but it may have a different led. Look at your 1000 schematic, look for the drive light, look for a resistor connected to the drive light. read the value. calculate 5/valueofresistor. That is the operating curren t of the led. luck Tom | |||||

Re: .0 Terminal programs usually open an audio channel so that they can ring the terminal's bell if a control-g is encountered. I have my suspicion that Sonix opens the serial port as soon as it starts so that it can play MIDI instruments should your direct it to. Other music programs may take an equally greedy view about owning the serial port. |
