1705.0. "Mouse Zapped!!! Dead or alive?" by RAVEN1::EVERHART () Tue Sep 20 1988 14:18
A friend of mine owns an Amiga 500, and made the stupid mistake
of trying to connect a Tandy mouse to his second Joyport so that
he could have two mice for Marble Madness. Predictably, this caused
a problem with the Hardware, and his Mouse no longer works properly.
(The Amiga Mouse) The joysticks seem to work fine, and the mouse
buttons work. He took the mouse to the lab and checked it under
the oscilloscope, and it seems to check out just fine. We think
we've narrowed the problem down to either the DENISE, or a 74HCT157
that seems to XOR and NOT the signals going to the DENISE mouse
registers. Anybody got any idea what the actual problem might be?
The puzzling thing is that the joysticks work perfectly. The reason
I ask is because DENISE is $50, wheras the 74HCT157 is only 65 cents.
Thanks in advance.
