re: .0,.1 given current memory prices... what is the price of the Mini Rack + 2Meg you are selling? re: .0 Sounds like they are trying to determine if there are enough A1000 owners left who are still waiting for that 2000 and 1. Glad to see that they are offering the mini rack buy back. Not many companies are that nice. But I wonder why they just didn't do the 2000 and 1 as an expansion box for both the A500 and the A1000. Seems like that would get a lot more orders than an A1000 only version. There is a lot more (relatively speaking) third party expansion for the A1000 than there were way back when ASDG first promised to do the 2000 and 1. And you don't have to wait until next March for them. Also the A2000 has come down a bit in price. (add the selling price of an A1000 + $800 + the missing video slot + potential for adding the enhanced chip set + 512K memory, compare that to the price of an A2000) Bear Products sells a $495 board that goes into a pc case. I believe it has 6 amiga slots and 6 ibmpc slots, don't think it has a coprocessor slot (source of info was usenet). -Dave
1619.3 | A price... | ELWOOD::PETERS | Tue Aug 23 1988 20:29 | 10
As you noted memory price has greatly increased and I have other uses for the 2M of 256K DRAMS. I want to sell the memory board with 0K RAM. The board has sockets and can be configured as 512K, 1M, or 2M. I'm asking $300 for the rack and memory board with 0K. I will listen to other offers or configurations. Steve Peters |
