Well done, but do you know where it came from ?
As an aside I follow a few of the personal computer conferences
from these reports the Amiga seems particularly prone to Viruss
or should that be virae.

Yes, I traced it to a SONIX jukebox no.2 disk distributed here in
the UK by 17-BIT ( a user club - a bit better than the rest :-),
so they will be notified as it was the original disk that was infected
and it has never had the write protect window closed.

The Amiga isn't particularly prone to viruses as computers go.
It's just that finding a virus is a new experience for a lot of Amiga
owners.

BTW it was picked up by Guardian - a warm-boot surviving boot block
checker, (it modifies the hand and disk screen to let you know it's
in there) which picks up on non-standard boot blocks and asks whether
or not to give control to it, if you give it control, Guardian will
also warn you if the ExecBase has been modified. Very useful.

Virus questions:
How can you dedect the LSD virus and what affect has the virus?
Last week I dedect a new virus (I have no name for this virus) that
shows no message. It's a bootblock-virus. The only action I have
dedect is the following: Everytimes you want to format a disk you
get while initialising a system request: key 880 already set. This
only happens if you format with wour external drive and the disk
is not acceptet as a DOS-disk.
I live in Bavarian and know one other user with this virus. Has
anyone experience with this virus?

Is Guardian public domain? if so, available on the enet somewhere?
While I'm not too thrilled about a "good" virus, it would be nice
to have something watching for some program modifying the OS.
(viruses don't have to be in boot sectors, innocent looking programs
can contain them - haven't seen any so far, but the ibmpc world
is full of gems like that)

It's shareware, written by an Italian. I don't know that it's on
the net but I'm hoping to get a modem in the next few days so I
will upload it ASAP.

Hey, did you upload the Guardian yet? If so, where is it?
Enquiring minds want to know.
